What does TRC mean? Properties and technical specifications

TRC (Traction Control System) is a system used in Toyota models has been installed. It works closely with the ABS. The system prevents wheel slip and ensures good traction. It ensures efficient use of engine torque when driving on roads with different levels of grip and improves vehicle stability on slippery surfaces.

How TRC works

This is based on monitoring the speed of the wheels. If slip is detected, individual wheels are braked. To do this, the pump and the solenoid valves of the ABS hydraulics are activated. In addition, this system can temporarily limit engine torque.

When driving on a dirt or snow-covered road, it is advisable to turn TRC off to improve the vehicle's off-road capability. The corresponding indicator lamp on the dashboard will then light up. This will remind the driver that the system has been turned off.
