Ken Block's electric drift Audi

The new Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro “Hoonitron” for by drift artist Ken Block is custom made with one purpose only: to create the perfect Gymkhana video. What do you think of this unique racing car?

The US superstar of the rally and drift scene will be behind the wheel of a high-performance car designed and built especially for him. Known on the Internet for his fast-paced and risky gymkhana videos, the professional driver wants to herald a new era of “electric hana” – because his latest vehicle will be powered by two electric motors.

That's right, the all-new Hoonitron has plenty of power under the hood, and this time it's even fully electric. From a purely visual point of view, the car is reminiscent of the legendary Audi Sport Quattro S1 of the time, which is still extremely popular among connoisseurs today. But most of the similarities are only of an external nature. Because the entire Audi S1 E-tron was designed and constructed from scratch – and all this in just four weeks at the traditional Audi site in Neckarsulm. And so that the transition from drift sport to the age of e-mobility is heralded with a loud bang, the car manufacturers have spared no expense or effort in terms of equipment and performance.

Although only the key data of the drift car are known so far, they are already causing a stir and are preparing every fan a pleasant anticipation for the upcoming stunt videos.
Not only the already mentioned electric motors will provide the necessary power on the slopes: The entire aerodynamic design of the Audi Quattro S1 paired with a carbon fiber chassis will contribute to that Ken Block will experience a driving experience like on clouds.
Of course, the safety standards of the FIA must not be neglected, because with a racing machine of this caliber no precaution is superfluous.
Like the drift scene and d he driver himself will react to an e-car remains to be seen. In any case, it seems certain that Ken Block will demand everything from the vehicle and put on a show worth seeing.
