XDi: SsangYong diesel engines with Common Rail direct injection system

XDi is a range of turbocharged common rail diesel engines -Fuel injection system. The engines will be installed in SsangYong cars. They first appeared on the market in 2004. They have 4 or 5 cylinders in a row. They are mainly licensed versions of Mercedes-Benz engines, although some engines were developed in-house by SsangYong Motor.

Common defects of XDi-Motoren

Defects Engines
Due to their sensitivity to fuel quality the high-pressure fuel pump can fail. D27DT.
The injectors clog quickly. D27DT.  
Carbon deposits quickly form on the EGR valve. D27DT.
The valves that control the boost pressure and also control the exhaust gas recirculation, fail prematurely. D20DT.
The hydraulic timing chain tensioner often breaks. D20DT.
