DTC: definition, characteristics and principle of operation

DTC is a dynamic traction control system used by both cars and Motorcycles are equipped by BMW. It is part of the dynamic stability control DSC. This function enables dynamic driving by partially eliminating anti-skid intervention and improving grip on bad roads, such as snow-covered roads. The system has been available since 2001.

How to use DTC 

The DTC function is activated by briefly pressing and holding the corresponding Button activated on the center console. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) still works, but with some limitations. In this mode, the driver has more options for maneuvering, including controlled skidding. If necessary to avoid an accident, the system is activated. To gain full control of the vehicle, you can press and hold the DTC's activation button for a few seconds. This turns off the DSC stability control completely.
