DI-D engines: operating characteristics

DI-D engines are turbocharged diesel engines equipped with a direct injection system are equipped. These are used in Mitsubishi vehicles. They were introduced in 1999 in the third generation of Mitsubishi Pajero SUVs. Today these motors are widely used.

Features of DI-D motors

Di-D engines are in-line engines and have 4 cylinders. These have a cast iron or aluminum engine block. In any case, the cylinder head is made of aluminum. Depending on the version, the valve control unit uses a chain or a belt. In early 2000, a distributor pump was used to inject fuel into engines. This was later replaced by the more effective and economical common rail system.
